Here are a couple notes on Idaho athletes signing to play college sports. In both cases, it involves women's basketball.

I hope everybody enjoyed their spring vacation. Mine is still a few weeks off, but getting to cover the first rounds of NCAA Tournament two weeks ago and then watching it this week certainly made the past couple of weeks fun.

It was just announced the Madison's Josh Fuller was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for boys basketball. Fuller, a 6-foot-6 junior forward, helped the Bobcats reach the 5A state title game earlier this month. Madison lost to Lewiston 56-48.

I am sure there is still a lot of buzz about Skyview's state championship victory over Pocatello on Saturday at the Idaho Center. I have to admit it was one of the better high school games I have seen.

The winter sports season (basketball and wrestling) wrapped up with a pretty exciting day of boys basketball at the Idaho Center.

5A FINAL: Lewiston 56, Madison 46. Another good game, but the Bengals hit their free throws to secure the victory.
4A FINAL: Skyview wins 59-58 in overtime. Kyle Dranginis hit a runner with 21 seconds that proved to be the game winner. Pocatello had two chances but missed both. CRAZY game!

FINAL: Madison 56, Capital 48. It's official - no District III teams advanced to the 5A state semifinals. All four 4A SIC teams will be playing in the early games tomorrow. Vallivue plays Eagle at 1:15 p.m., and Borah faces Capital at 3 p.m.
Halftime: Capital 27, Madison 27. The Bobcats got off to a hot start, but the Eagles managed to tie at halftime.
