With Bryan Gates gone to the NBA, the Idaho Stampede are searching for a head coach.

I was just about to leave the ballpark when I got word the Chicago Cubs are assigning centerfielder Brett Jackson to the organization's Class A affiliate in Peoria.
Jackson was the Cubs' No. 1 pick this year and he impressed in his 24 games with the Boise Hawks. Jackson hit .330 with a home run and 15 RBI. He also had a double and a triple.

A photo surfaced on a blog Wednesday of Idaho Stampede coach Bryan Gates in Las Vegas with the new coaching staff of the Sacramento Kings.
Last month, Gates was mentioned as a possible candidate to join the coaching staff for new Sacramento head coach Paul Westphal's staff. Westphal and Gates share the same agent.

As I was leaving Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, the Voice of the Hawks, Mike Safford, let me know of some moves by the Chicago Cubs.

Nampa Christian athletic director Tina Pelkey announced this week that boys basketball coach Brad Adolfson resigned to pursue a career in athletic administration.
"Brad raised the level of play on the basketball court and his presence will be greatly missed," Pelkey said. "Nampa Christian wishes hime well with his future endeavors."
