The Spokesman-Review reported today a Spokane man is believed to have come down with the illness.

Interesting story out of Florida where a high school pitcher will try for his fifth consecutive no-hitter Tuesday.

If you haven't seen the story, you can read about Patrick Schuster's feat here. I was just watching ESPNews and the network plans to show all of his pitches in a playoff game. According to The New York Times' story I linked to, more than 1,000 people attended his last...read more

An interesting story was passed on the AP wire today. Sandpoint head football coach Mike Mitchell has hired Jake Plummer as an assistant coach.

The Capital High grad and former NFL quarterback has lived in Sandpoint since retiring. Plummer has said in the past he wanted to coach, and a good source told me Plummer was helping out a team at a local elementary school. There is no word if Ben Stein or...read more

This one set up nicely for the Queston of the Week: How will Aaron Sanders do as Skyview's head basketball coach?

If you haven't heard, Sean Yeager has resigned after two years as head coach. Skyview athletic director Dan McGee quickly announced the promotion of Sanders, an assistant coach for the Hawks since 2002, as Yeager's replacement.

I hope everybody has enjoyed the last few days of sunshine. It is a nice change of pace, even if it is only supposed to last for a few days.

Now for the question of the week: A big vote is taking place Wednesday at IHSAA's board of directors' meeting on whether or not to cut the regular season for ALL sports by 10 percent (i.e. one less football game, two less basketball games.) Are...read more
