Here's a question I get asked frequently:
Do you really need to get multiple Sunday newspapers to save money?
And, the short answer I give is always: yes.
The reason you need multiple Sunday papers can be clearly illustrated in a wonderful deal I got today at Fred Meyer. They had an in-ad coupon that offered liquid Snuggle fabric softener for $2.99. There is a current manufacturer's coupon that gives your $3.00 off one bottle of liquid fabric softener. The in-ad coupon limited you to two bottles, which then added up to be $0.34 with tax. I did three separate transactions, which gave me six bottles of Snuggle fabric softener for a whopping out-of-pocket cost of $1.02. Of course, it would still be wonderful to get one bottle of fabric softener for free, but instead, I was able to get six. I didn't have to work any harder; I just worked smarter.
Just in case you were wondering, the Snuggle had been priced at $5.24 (I think...it may have been $5.26) on the shelf. It was sale priced at $3.99. So, I saved $31.44. And, so could you!
