Do you think someone decided that Election Day should be a few days after Halloween because we usually see all the skeletons come out of candidate closets by the 31st of October?

I don't think I've ever thought about it that way, but this has been a spooky election season. Or maybe it's just been spooky for me because I've been at the office really late almost every night for the past two weeks.

Saturday's paper will have a story about the Caldwell firefighters quest to get a pay raise because they have a contract. But the city says it's not possible without dipping into the rainy day fund or increase taxes. What do you think? We will have an editorial on that topic, too. And there will be several more letters to the editor.

In Sunday's paper, look for an eight-page Voter's Guide, with candidates' answers to 10 more questions, plus "Why you should elect me" essays from each candidate in Nampa and Caldwell. There will be additional information on the jail bond, pro and con guest opinions and an editorial saying what the Idaho Press-Tribune thinks of the jail bond. And yes, even more letters to the editor.

Much more at Election Central
