Former Boise State standouts Gerald Alexander and Ryan Clady were at Borah High on Friday for a charity basketball game to benefit the Ada County Sheriff Employee's Association.

Clady showed up during the fourth quarter of the game because he had a few meetings to attend in Denver, so had to take a later flight than the one he originally booked three weeks ago.

After a rookie season where he...read more

Here's something that will not come to any sort of surprise to Boise State football fans, especially those who follow the team's recruiting.

The "star" system used by recruiting sites like Scout and Rivals are not completely objective. Long have some wondered why a kid commits to Florida and becomes a 4-star overnight but a guy who impresses on tape but is an inch short commits...read more

Boise State sophomore center Thomas Byrd was named to the Rimington Trophy's spring watch list Friday.

The award is given out the nation's top center. Penn State's AQ Shipley won it last season.

Byrd was a stalwart on an offensive line that yielded just 13 sacks last season. He started 12 games last season, one of three linemen to do so, along with Jon Gott and Andrew Woodruff.

Yes, it's another early top 25...but I found this one from ESPN.com interesting since it has Boise State ranked as the top team outside of one of the six automatic-qualifying BCS conferences.

Of course a win over Oregon will start the BCS talk, especially since the Broncos will be ranked to start the season, unlike in 2008. I am very intrigued by that Tulsa game, as you very well...read more

College Football News has posted its "way too early" bowl predictions, but considering how much TV and Web space is devoted to college football, even here in May, it's not as crazy as it once sounded.

So, where does CFN project Boise State?

It is certainly interesting, especially considering the amount of hype Oregon has been receiving this spring.

In its first season, the Boise State softball team will play in the WAC tournament.

Even though the Broncos were no-hit Friday night in Honolulu, they had already nabbed a spot in the seven-team tourney, which begins Wednesday in Fresno. In the eight-team WAC, seven teams reach the postseason, and Boise State made it by virtue of clinching a better conference record than Utah State.

With 20-plus...read more

The Boise State athletic department has seen 78 percent of its season ticket holders renew for next season.

In spite of the economic downturn, only three percent have dropped their tickets, which is typical. The athletic department announced a hike in season ticket costs in March, and it appears it has had little effect on whether fans want to renew or not.

Boise State athletic director Gene Bleymaier spoke before Congress today regarding the current BCS system.

Bleymaier spoke about Boise State's benefits from playing in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, and had a pretty memorable quote:"How many more years do we need to go undefeated before we get a chance?"

We'll have more in Saturday's IPT.
