ESPN.com posted a story today about some of the best non-BCS recruiting classes, and Boise State is one of those teams.
It's tough to disagree with them, as this class is shaping up to be pretty darn good. Guys like Joe Southwick, Charles Leno, Jonathan Brown, John Michael Davis and Kirby Moore all had interest from "bigger" schools but will only help continue the Boise State tradition...read more

ESPN.com has ranked the FBS teams from 1-119 in terms of prestigiousness, factoring in things such as bowl wins, probation, 10-win seasons and first-round picks.
Boise State is ranked No. 54.
Considering how young the Broncos' program is, how Ryan Clady was the first first-rounder just a year ago and that ESPN is using records and rankings going back to the 1930's, it isn't too bad...read more

Not only will Boise State get back cornerback Kyle Wilson in 2009, but he'll be going back to school to get his degree.
Wilson recently visited some students in his home state of New Jersey recently.
Check out the story here.
Wilson was projected as a third-rounder by the NFL advisory committee. From most scouts, I've seen him going before Jeremy Childs, who declared Tuesday, but you...read more

It was a nice week for former Boise State Broncos in the NFL, starting with Ryan Clady and Quintin Mikell getting named second-team All-Pro.
On Sunday, two Broncos in the playoffs made some big plays.
Mikell, whose Eagles will play in the NFC Championship, picked off Eli Manning in the fourth quarter, while second-year pro Legedu Naanee had a 4-yard touchdown reception for San Diego in their loss...read more

After their 54-49 win over Hawaii on Saturday, the Boise State men's basketball team is 12-3, off to its best start since posting the same record in 1994-95, when the Broncos went 17-10.
The Broncos' RPI rating as of 7 p.m. on Sunday was No. 47 (according to RealTimeRPI.com), ahead of teams like Kansas, Utah State, Arizona and Boston College. It looks to be another big year for the...read more

One former Boise State standout earned a huge honor in his first season, while another bided his time.
Denver Broncos rookie offensive tackle Ryan Clady and Philadelphia Eagles safety Quintin Mikell were named to the NFL All-Pro second team.
Clady had the third-most votes amongst tackles, while Mikell was fourth at his position. Mikell, in his sixth season, plays the Giants on Sunday.

The Boise State basketball team has added guard Robert Arnold to the roster.
The 6-foot-6 Arnold had originally committed to join the Broncos in the fall from Antelope Valley Community College in California, but academic reasons pushed his enrollment back to the spring semester.

The Broncos had received a verbal commitment in August from California safety Will Shamburger, whose coach I spoke to soon after and said some great things about the kid.
"I asked him if he could be swayed by a Pac-10 team like UCLA and he told me he was solidly committed to Boise State," head coach Kiki Mendoza told me.
Well, that apparently has changed.
Shamburger has dropped the Broncos...read more

Looking at Boise State's nonconference (and WAC) schedule next season, plus factoring in the Broncos' returning talent, it's not too hard to imagine they'll make another run at a BCS game.
I think Tulsa will be a doozy, but the other road games? Not so much. Fresno State loses some key guys and clearly are a notch below the Broncos in terms of talent. Toledo and Utah State all have...read more
