Boise State junior kicker/punter Kyle Brotzman said he didn't think the first half of his season was much to brag about, but Oct. 24's game at Hawaii did plenty to boost his confidence.

In the win over the Warriors, Brotzman hit 4-of-5 field goals, had a 72-yard punt and also completed a 28-yard pass to Jason Robinson on a fake punt in the 54-9 rout.

"I felt it was a turning point for me, it hadn't been a great season before that," Brotzman said.

Brotzman hit a 32-yard field goal last Saturday against San Jose State and also had a 67-yard punt downed inside the SJSU 20. He said completing the pass on the fake against Hawaii was exciting, considering the play has been called a few times in recent seasons, but the defensive look wasn't ideal.

"We've had that in for a while — it was nice to finally use it," he said.

Brotzman would be second in the NCAA with his 46.95-yard average, but his 21 punts (2.6 per game) is not enough to qualify for a national ranking, which requires 3.6 per game. Of course, the Broncos don't mind that, since a stalling offense means more punts.

Don't forget!

Answer the two questions by 4 p.m. (MST) Friday. The closest answer to each will be given a pair of tickets.
