Ah, my treasured notebook. It has been awhile. Life has taken hold of me the last few days and has thrown me for a loop. Today, I was able to shake it all off (busyness + stress = writer's block); and have a few thoughts outside of Diabetes, Autism, doctors, and the mounting bills.

A friend shared a wonderful question with me this morning and I would like to share it with you.

Do you want to be a millionaire?

My initial response was, "uh yeah, who wouldn't", but after a few quiet moments of reflecting, and thinking about the blessed 23-year-old, $232 million dollar lotto winner, I began thinking about what it might mean to be a millionaire, today, and in these times. I thought about a couple of fabulous friends I am lucky to have and hold so close to my heart, and a couple of family members I would love to share my wealth with, and an organization that I could see myself starting. Instead of saying yes, I asked why? I failed to see the long-term, and was stuck in today, the-right-now. The article presented changed my thinking about saving, retirement, the long-term, and how possible becoming a millionaire is, if you play the cards dealt to you, just right.

I will share the article with you, and remember, all it takes is $150.00 a month, which might mean cutting out a lot of excess, and just making ends meet for some of us, but $150.00, which means saving $5.00 a day, could result in you having a million dollars in 40 years (if the article has calculated correctly and you keep your hot little hands and mind off the money), or at least being closer to your financial freedom and comfort when you will need it most. The article also states, if you are to stack away $300.00 a month, you are looking at being a millionaire in 34 years. 34 years to retire, sounds delicious.

Okay, sign me up.

I am off to play the lottery. Because something has got to give, and I think it's my turn to win.
