The Western Athletic Conference media preview is now in our rear view mirror, so what did we learn?

Here's a look:

— For starters, we found out Boise State is far and away the class of the conference —I can't recount the many times I heard that the last few days.

At one point, it became a bit over the top. Louisiana Tech head man Derek Dooley made no bones about it, he's trying to build his program in the Broncos' mold. New Utah State head coach Gary Andersen said his team's primary drive is to become just like the Broncos.

— The WAC is once more a QB league. Sure, Colin Kaepernick and Kellen Moore are the superstars, but don't think there won't be a few more single-callers to make a huge splash this season. Utah State's Diondre Borel was one of only seven QBs last season to lead his team in both passing and rushing. Louisiana Tech's Ross Jenkins and Hawaii's Greg Alexander could also make a few headlines.

— Coaches, coaches and more coaches. The WAC has always been known for its coaches. Andersen and new New Mexico State coach DeWayne Walker can only add to that mix. Talking to the Aggies (yes, USU and NMSU), they are excited about their new direction. Walker brings a slew of NFL and major college experience, while Andersen's defensive scheme shut down Alabama in the Sugar Bowl eight months ago.

The WAC may not be the most high-profile of football conferences, but there will be no shortage of storylines as we cover it all season long.
