I'm expecting to hear any day that you can watch a vlog from Dan Vickery at HGTV.com. The "Fan Favorite" already taped a few, sharing some insights to the whole nine-week Design Star competition. Dan's online show will start after the first of the year, but these are special segments so you can get to know Dan a bit more. I'll have to ask Dan who did the editing. : )

After the continued negative messages and an online petition to get Dan his own TV show on HGTV, Dan showed that he's the class act I know and love.

"Thanks to everyone who has supported and voted for me throughout this competition. The challenges may be over but the fun has just begun. That is in large part due to you all of you," Dan said in a message to his supporters. "Stay tuned next week when I will be hosting a few vlogs about the season. I also wanted ask a favor. I do appreciate the strong comments and the passion that many people are feeling about this competition. However, please do not support me by bringing anyone down. It was an intense competition and we all brought very different things to the table."

A Lonni and Dan show?

It's no secret that Dan and Lonni Paul — she lasted through the eighth episode — developed a friendship on the show.

The mother 3-year-old twins posted this cryptic message last week on her blog:

"I want to congratulate my friend and fellow Design Star cast member, Dan Vickery, for winning the fan favorite vote and getting his own online show!! He's going to be great and will show HGTV exactly why he deserves his own TV show! And hopefully Dan and I will be working together on our own show soon! Everybody support Dan's online show!! I know I will be!! Go Dan!!!!!"

Wonder what's up with that? I'll let you know when I know.

Hey, did you watch Antonio's first show? I did, and so did a couple of my fellow Design Star fans. I'll post some thoughts tonight. Initially, let me just say ... Antonio says he won't deliver the typical HGTV fodder.

He did just that in his Sunday night special. More later.

But there's one surprise I want to share now: In a flashback to the final challenge competition, viewers saw Dan and Antonio greet family members who were there to wish them luck. We watched a 20-second flashback to the final episode that showed the Vickery family — parents Dick and Bev and sister Karen — greeting Dan and later eating breakfast with Antonio's family. The clip also revealed that Dan slept in the master bedroom — that unforgettable room Tashica and Natalee did — at the Hollywood mansion. Yep, the duct-taped curtains — and torn bedding — were still there.
