Tuesday the College of Idaho softball team jumped on a plane early in the morning and winged its way to Alabama for a second straight time for the NAIA World Series.

Let me be one of the many to wish the ladies the best of luck this week in pool play, as they take on Martin Methodist (Tenn.), Bethel (Ind.) and Virginia-Wise with the goal of winning the pool and advancing to the championship bracket.

No, it won't be easy, just take a look at some of the offensive stats these teams put up. But, the Yotes have the focus and the experience to do well.

Of course, before the tournament begins, the team also gets to enjoy Space Camp! The opening ceremony for the tournament will be held at NASA's U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala., where the movie "Space Camp" was filmed.

Speaking with Kuna High grad and C of I Brooke Judy last week, the physics major is extremely excited to visit Space Camp and take advantage of the two hours teams are allowed to tour the facility — which includes trying out some of the "rides"!

I hear many of the Coyote ladies are looking forward to trying out the weightless chamber.
